Shadow of the Tomb
Tomb Raider games have sold over 63 million copies worldwide, and alongside being praised for pioneering female characters in video games, Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series have now become brands for both computer games and blockbuster films. Target Media are proud to have developed the media strategy and delivered the campaign for the newest PlayStation and Xbox game: Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb. A high profile national campaign across National TV, VOD, Out of Home, Social Media and Digital Display.
The hotly anticipated launch of Fallout 76 was preceded by a 24-hour Twitch live stream, showing a Vault Boy bobblehead toy in front of a monitor with the 'Please Stand By' test pattern, teasing the initial announcement. This stream was watched by a total of over two million people, with over 100,000 people watching at almost any time. Target was proud to be the media agency of choice in the UK, Benelux, Nordic, Italy and Spain for what was one of the most hyped games launches of the year.
We launched Idris Elba's highly anticipated directorial debut with a campaign that took its inspiration from the film itself. Targeting 25-45 urbanites, we focused on a heavy outdoor presence (hitting festivals and launching in Brixton and Hackney first). TV was also a key ingredient in awareness-driving, with some of our key spots at the start of the football season as well as hand picking shows such as Peng Life and engaging in Sky Ad Smart. We also partnered with Time Out's carnival special issue, Shortlist, Kiss FM and Mi-Soul, as well as executing a heavy social campaign.
King of Thieves
King of Thieves was one of STUDIOCANAL’s biggest releases for 2018. The film is based on the true story of the 2015 Hatton Garden robbery and from the same producers of Legend and Baby Driver. To top it off, it featured an all-star stellar cast including homegrown legend Sir Michael Caine. With a large-scale yet highly-targeted media campaign and such a well-loved cast and infamous story line, the film performed fantastically at the box office.
Cold War is an epic romance set against the backdrop of Europe after World War II. Its artwork is instantly iconic, lending itself perfectly to large OOH formats and standout upmarket press ads, especially as it garnered 5* reviews across the board. We promoted the film’s musical theme by running a two-week campaign with Classic FM, which was then supported by YouTube and Facebook videos highlighting different aspects of the film, and appealing to a number of audiences. The release was a huge success, considerably surpassing box office norms for the genre.
